Local coverage

Wall printing for Cambridgeshire, delivered by a team that actually travels there

Cambridgeshire's economy is unusually concentrated in research, technology and education, with the science and business parks around Cambridge, the logistics and manufacturing base at Peterborough and Huntingdon, and a strong public sector across health, education and local government. Those buildings share a common requirement: interiors that communicate something about the organisation, and that can be updated without shutting the place down.

Direct-to-wall printing does that. The printer comes to the building, prints the artwork straight onto the wall surface, and the UV ink cures as it is applied. There is no wallpaper, no vinyl, no paste and no drying period. A laboratory corridor, lecture foyer, distribution unit or hotel reception is finished and usable within the same visit.

Cambridgeshire building stock spans historic college and civic architecture with older plaster, modern research buildings with clean skimmed walls, and large painted block in the Fenland industrial estates. Each takes ink differently, so we survey the wall at a free site visit before quoting. The printer needs around two inches of clearance at the base, prints up to 4 metres high with unlimited length, and uses roughly 0.06 kWh per square metre.

Response times to Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire is reached from our Essex base up the M11 and A14, which makes it a comfortable planned visit and a practical county for us to cover regularly.

Why us

Why Cambridgeshire businesses choose UK Wall Printing

A practical run up the M11 and A14

Cambridgeshire is close enough to schedule regularly, which helps with phased and multi-building projects.

No drying time in working buildings

Laboratories, lecture rooms and wards are back in use as soon as we finish.

Procurement-ready compliance

Public liability insurance, DBS checks, CHAS accreditation and RAMS supplied for every job.

Durable for institutional use

Washable and scratch resistant, around 10 years indoors and 5 years outdoors.

No vinyl and no landfill waste

Nothing is stuck to the wall, so there is no plastic media to remove and dispose of later.

Local conditions

The wall problems we see again and again in Cambridgeshire

Historic buildings with uneven plaster

Cambridge and Ely have older stock where surface texture changes the result. We look at the wall at the free site visit before quoting.

Research and clinical spaces with strict material rules

GREENGUARD Gold certified inks mean low chemical emissions and no solvent smell left in the room.

Long corridors that panels spoil

A stitched vinyl run shows every join along an education or hospital corridor. Printing runs the image continuously.

Buildings that cannot be closed

Hospitals, universities and distribution centres run continuously. A single-visit, instantly cured print fits around them.

Sustainability criteria in tenders

Public sector and research clients increasingly weigh waste. Printing avoids plastic media entirely.

Our process

The same five-step system on every Cambridgeshire job

  1. Step 1

Free site visit and wall survey

We come to you, measure the wall, check it for flatness, damp, dust and existing coatings, and confirm the printable area. Our machine prints up to 4 metres high and unlimited in length, so the survey is where we work out exactly how your artwork maps onto the surface you have.

  2. Step 2

    Artwork preparation and digital proof

Send us your own file or let us create the design. We scale it to the true wall dimensions, correct resolution, colour and crop, then issue a to-scale digital proof. Nothing is printed until you have signed that proof off, so there are no surprises on the wall.

  3. Step 3

    Surface preparation and machine set-up

The wall is cleaned and prepared, the printer is set up against it and calibrated, and RAMS are supplied for the job. Set-up is quiet, contained and needs no scaffolding for standard heights.

  4. Step 4

Direct-to-wall printing with instant UV cure

GREENGUARD Gold certified Nazdar 270 series UV inks are printed straight onto the wall and cured instantly as the head passes. There is no drying time, no solvent smell and no plastic film, so the image is finished the moment the last pass completes.

  5. Step 5

    Inspection, sign-off and clean handover

We walk the finished wall with you, check colour and edges, clear the area and leave the space usable straight away. The cured print is washable and scratch resistant, and lasts roughly 10 years indoors or 5 years outdoors.

Questions

Wall printing in Cambridgeshire: your questions answered

Which parts of Cambridgeshire do you cover?

The whole county, including Cambridge, Peterborough, Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives, Ely, March, Wisbech and the surrounding villages.

How much does wall printing in Cambridgeshire cost?

Each wall is quoted individually on size, surface condition and access, following a free site visit and a written, bespoke quote.

Do you have a Cambridge-specific page?

Yes. Cambridge has its own page covering the city, while this page covers the wider county including Peterborough, Huntingdon and Ely.

How long does printing take?

Most single walls are completed in one visit and the ink cures instantly, so there is no drying time.

Is it suitable for laboratories and clinical areas?

The inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions and the finish is washable, which suits clinical and research cleaning regimes. We confirm suitability at the site visit.

Can you print onto painted block in a warehouse?

Yes, along with plaster, brick and render. Surface texture is assessed at the site visit because it affects how artwork is prepared.

How long will the print last?

Do you offer trade or white label printing?

Yes. We print for Cambridgeshire fit-out contractors, sign makers, designers and agencies under their own branding, with trade terms on request.
