Overview
Advertising space you already own
Printed wall advertising turns walls you already control, your own building, a unit you lease, a hoarding, a stairwell, a car park elevation, into permanent, high-impact advertising space. The message is printed directly onto the surface at up to 4 metres high and unlimited length, so scale is limited by the wall rather than by panel sizes.
The economics differ from paid media. Once the wall is printed there is no monthly site rental, no reprint of a poster, and no installation charge each time the creative changes. When the campaign moves on, the wall is repainted and reprinted at a fraction of the cost of manufacturing and installing a new applied graphic.
It also differs from applied media in how it looks. There is no seam through the middle of the message, no bubbling on a warm south-facing wall, and no curling corner in month eight. Advertising that degrades visibly does more harm than good, and adhesive is the usual reason it degrades.
Speed is the third advantage. Because UV curing is instant, a campaign wall is live the moment we finish rather than after a drying or settling period: useful when launches, seasonal pushes and event campaigns are pinned to a date.
Why professional delivery matters
- Exterior and semi-exposed surfaces need assessment for substrate, weathering and aspect before printing.
- Legibility from a road or across a car park depends on type size and contrast decisions made against real distances.
- Large-scale creative has to be prepared at true resolution or it fails visibly at the size that gives it impact.
- Working at height on public-facing elevations requires RAMS, insurance and controlled site management.
The cost of leaving it
What an underused or deteriorating wall costs
A large blank wall on a busy route is unpaid-for attention passing every day. Thousands of impressions go by with nothing to read, while the same business pays for digital impressions that are skipped in two seconds. The wall is the only advertising space you never have to rent again, and leaving it blank is a standing cost that never appears on a media plan.
Deteriorating advertising is worse than blank. A torn banner, a sun-bleached poster or a peeling vinyl campaign tells passers-by that the business is either gone or not paying attention. It attaches the impression of decline to the brand precisely where the most people see it, and it usually stays up longer than intended because replacing it costs money and effort.
Then there is the recurring cost of applied media. Every campaign change means new manufacture, new installation, removal of the old graphic and disposal of a large sheet of plastic. Three campaign cycles later you have paid for the wall several times over and thrown away everything you bought.
Common mistakes we are called in to fix
-
Cramming too much on the wall
Wall advertising is read at speed and distance. One message, one image and one action outperform a paragraph every time.
-
Using a low-resolution creative file
Campaign artwork built for social media rarely holds at 4 metres. Files must be prepared at true scale.
-
Ignoring aspect and weathering outdoors
Exposure affects longevity. We assess the surface and orientation and give a realistic expectation of around 5 years outdoors.
-
Treating it as a one-off spend
The value comes from reuse: repaint and reprint each campaign instead of re-manufacturing applied graphics.
Our process
A five-step system, so you know exactly what happens and when
-
Step 1
Free site visit and wall survey
We come to you, measure the wall, check it for flatness, damp, dust and existing coatings, and confirm the printable area. Our machine prints up to 4 metres high and unlimited in length, so the survey is where we work out exactly how your artwork maps onto the surface you have.
-
Step 2
Artwork preparation and digital proof
Send us your own file or let us create the design. We scale it to the true wall dimensions, correct resolution, colour and crop, then issue a to-scale digital proof. Nothing is printed until you have signed that proof off, so there are no surprises on the wall.
-
Step 3
Surface preparation and machine set-up
The wall is cleaned and prepared, the printer is set up against it and calibrated, and RAMS are supplied for the job. Set-up is quiet, contained and needs no scaffolding for standard heights.
-
Step 4
Direct-to-wall printing with instant UV cure
GREENGUARD Gold certified Nazdar 270 series UV inks are printed straight onto the wall and cured instantly as the head passes. There is no drying time, no solvent smell and no plastic film, so the image is finished the moment the last pass completes.
-
Step 5
Inspection, sign-off and clean handover
We walk the finished wall with you, check colour and edges, clear the area and leave the space usable straight away. The cured print is washable and scratch resistant, and lasts roughly 10 years indoors or 5 years outdoors.
Benefits
What you get out of it, stated plainly

Up to 4 metres high and unlimited in length, as one continuous image with no joins.
Cheap campaign changes
Repaint and reprint rather than re-manufacture, install and dispose of applied graphics.

In detail
Planning a wall advertising campaign
The survey establishes what the wall can carry. We check substrate type, condition, previous coatings, weather exposure and aspect, and confirm the printable area up to 4 metres in height. Exterior work is assessed more conservatively than interior because sunlight, driving rain and pollution all shorten life; we give a realistic expectation rather than an optimistic one.
Creative is prepared for viewing distance and dwell time. A wall read from a moving vehicle needs a headline that lands in under two seconds and contrast strong enough to work in poor light. A wall inside a venue can carry more detail because people are standing still. We size type and detail accordingly rather than scaling a poster design up.
Sequencing matters for campaign-led clients. Because the wall can be repainted and reprinted, we can plan a cycle: launch creative now, seasonal creative later, evergreen brand message in between. Each cycle uses the same surface, so budget shifts from manufacturing to creative.
For hoardings and development sites the same process applies with additional site management: RAMS per job, public liability insurance, CHAS accreditation and coordination with the principal contractor to work safely alongside other trades.
Residential projects
Residential developments use the same approach on marketing suites, show home walls and site hoardings: high-impact, quickly delivered, and easily changed as phases sell out.
Commercial projects
Commercial campaigns are delivered around trading hours with RAMS, insurance and CHAS accreditation in place, and can be scheduled tightly to launch dates because there is no manufacturing lead time and no drying period.

Questions
Advertising: the questions we are asked before every job
How much does printed wall advertising cost?
It is quoted per wall based on area, height, access, surface condition and artwork preparation. The site visit and quote are free, and there are no ongoing site rental costs afterwards.
How long does an exterior print last?
Around 5 years outdoors depending on aspect and exposure, and around 10 years indoors. We give a realistic expectation for your specific wall at survey.
Can the wall be changed for a new campaign?
Yes, that is a core advantage. The wall is repainted and reprinted, so campaign changes avoid re-manufacture, installation and disposal costs.
How quickly can a campaign go live?
Once artwork is approved, most single walls are printed in a day and the ink cures instantly, so the campaign is visible immediately.
Will it peel or bubble outdoors?
There is no adhesive and no film, so there is nothing to lift. That is the main failure mode of vinyl and banner advertising, and it does not apply here.
What size can you print?
Up to 4 metres high with unlimited length, printed as a single continuous image.
Can you print on brick or render?
Often yes. Texture becomes part of the finish, so we assess the surface at the survey and explain how the creative will look before you commit.
Do you handle site hoardings?
Yes, including coordination with principal contractors. RAMS are supplied per job and we hold public liability insurance and CHAS accreditation.
Can you prepare the creative for us?
Yes, through our mural design service: including preparing existing campaign artwork so it holds at wall scale.
Which areas do you cover?
London, Essex and the South East as standard, including Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Chelmsford, Grays, Rayleigh and Romford, with nationwide coverage for larger campaigns.
